Great corporate headshots in Cambridgeshire
Creating great corporate headshots in Cambridgeshire is what I am about. No matter the size of your business I can get the business portraits you want to promote your business regionally and nationally. Based in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, my corporate photography business is ideally placed to cover the whole of Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Travel is no problem for business headshots in Norfolk, Suffolk, South Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.
What makes a great corporate headshot?
I think that is down to what you think. Ask a dozen people that question and you will get a dozen different opinions. My definition of a great corporate headshot is a series of images that meets the requirement of the business. Factors to be considered are the colour of the background. Do you want the standard white, black or something different? For a lot of potential customers or even existing customers the business headshots they see might form their first impression of the company. Should the images be very formal with jacket and ties or business suits? Could they be more relaxed, perhaps open neck and shirtsleeves. Would company t-shirts or polo necks be suitable? Should the subject be full face on or at 45 degrees to the camera. If my images meet your requirements then we have produced a great corporate headshot.
A little help goes a long way
I have produced a little pdf booklet that might help you in preparing for your business headshots. If you haven’t visited my page at https://melpettit.photo/headshot-preparation-guide/ go there. The document can be downloaded from that page. It will help you in making informed decisions about the look of your corporate headshots. There is a lot of valuable information for you to read. You will also get to see the way I shoot my business portraits using a textured background instead of plain white or black. That might be the change of look you are after to make you stand out. Hair and make-up are discussed too, as they have a direct effect on the finished images.
Location, location, location
Now we know how you want to look in your business headshots we need to think about location. Corporate headshots really are best taken at your place of work. Everything and everyone will be just where they need to be. That is great for me too. I will load up my portable studio lights and background and bring them with me. All I will need is some space in which to work. The more space you can give me the better. Medium to large meeting or boardrooms are great, but small rooms will be too cramped and possibly unusable. If your company has training days or an annual together why not use the venue for your corporate photography too? There are amny great business parks in Cambridgeshire, there are even two in Chatteris.
Allow a bit of time for business headshots
Some things should never be rushed and business portraits are one of those things. A lot of people have no fear of being in front of a camera, others have a dislike. Even the most outgoing sometimes turn to jelly the moment they see the lights set up around them. It always produces best results if the photographer can have a chat with each subject before the flashes start going off. Generally, if people are aware of what is going to happen they relax more. It pays to have a little chat with the more nervous to calm their fears and perhaps learn about any anxiety they have over the way they look. Editing on corporate headshots should be kept to a minimum, but a little tweak here and there to keep the subject happy is never a bad thing. Nobody should expect a full Hollywood make over though.
After the shoot
I love meeting people and taking their headshots. That part of the process is not work for me, it’s the bit I love doing. Corporate photography quite often means getting to chat to a lot of people doing something I have no knowledge of. It keeps things interesting for me. My work really starts on return to my home office in Chatteris. At that point all of my images are downloaded and backed up on site and off site just in case of a disaster. After that the real work begins.
The edits
During the shoot I’ll take five shots of every subject. I’ve found that number to give me enough spares to play to account for all the blinkers and squints that occur. All shots not suitable for use will get discarded, and the rest get edited. I always get at least two of each person, so you get plenty to choose from. This is the part of the shoot that might take some time to complete, especially if there have been a large number of subjects. It’s something I enjoy, and I get a deep sense of satisfaction when I complete the final edit and make all of the images ready for upload your own corporate headshots gallery.
Your corporate headshots gallery
Unfortunately client confidentiality means that I can’t show you a real corporate headshots gallery. Your privacy is very important to me, and that’s true for my portraits and actor headshots too. You can get an idea of what one will look like by taking a look at Ashleigh’s gallery. The gallery will be set up so the primary contact can download all images in either high or web size resolution. You will be able to use your business headshots wherever you like, on your web site or social media. The high resolution shots will print to a large size, so they can be used on all your printed media.
